A great partnership: This tray is designed to work seamlessly within the Chase cabinet. There are slots along both shorter ends of the tray that allow it to easily slide in and out of the Chase cabinet shelf supports. To the underside of the tray on both front and back edges there is a neat finger pull cut out, so when the tray is in the cabinet you can grasp the bottom edge easily to pull the tray in and out with ease.
Made in Ash: Historically, Ash was a cornerstone timber for British furniture makers, valued for its strength, flexibility, and beautiful grain. Tough and durable, it withstood daily use in farmhouses and was abundant in British forests, making it an affordable and practical choice. From the 16th century onwards, it became a staple in country-style and traditional furniture. Ash’s natural beauty, paired with its ability to take stain and polish well, made it a favourite among craftsmen.
However, the rise of cheap, foreign-imported wood has greatly diminished the use of Ash in the UK today. The market has been flooded with pine and other inexpensive hardwoods, often sourced unethically. At Gather, we only use British Ash from ‘Grown in Britain’ accredited, responsible, regenerative sources. We believe by supporting small-scale local forest supply chains, we can help revitalise homegrown timber production and encourage a return to using sustainably sourced, British-grown wood.
