Made strong: This chair is designed to be as structurally strong as possible. To achieve this every piece is fixed together using traditional mortice and tenon joint techniques. The cross-bar design of the seat pad base locks into place to create an incredibly stable, solid ash chair.
Made comfortable: The arm rest height has been very carefully considered to ensure it’s the perfect position for supportive comfort, the rests themselves also have softened rounded ends for the most gentle seated experience.
Made practical: The top of armrest support has been removed at an angle to allow the maximum space available between the arms, ensuring this carver is one you will want to settle into for many hours. The arm rests themselves however still sit carefully within the main footprint of the chair to ensure whilst it offers plenty of seating space the chair itself is neat and practical in design.
Made Mindfully: The many hours Henry has spent considering every detail on this chair speak to his care to ensure this piece treads as lightly as it can in its production. The seat pad retaining its full width of timber for example utilises every part of the timber, the wide flat surfaces require less wasteful sanding, using square leg profiles rather than turned significantly reduces material wastage.
A matter of balance: Every leg is fitted with our simple but ingenious levelling corks. This help protect the chair leg from damage, the floor from any possible marks and scratches and offer a quick and simple adjusting solution for uneven floors. Whilst most manufacturers use hard plastic feet to this end, we knew there must be a better way. Henry’s cork and penny solution is one of our proudest innovations – a simple, sustainable solution that will work forever (and is of course much more fun to replace!)

Traditionally named as the chair seated at the head of a table where the ‘carver’ may sit, this armed dining chair can actually be used in any position to create a highly comfortable seating choice.
Designed to work with all the tables in our collection, this piece shares the stability and strength of the Kiln Dining Chair, with the added benefit of armrests for an even more restful and supported seating position.
While it works perfectly in a dining table situation it is also designed as a neat seating solution for living rooms, offices, or bedrooms, anywhere where a comfortable, supportive chair is needed. The fully painted finish options available in this design are ideal for this purpose as this chair it is a strong carrier of colour – a great way to make an accent feature in any space.
